Do you watch football? I love cozy Sundays with the colder weather, the games on, and lots of good snacks to eat.

Sometimes we do wings, sometimes nachos, sometimes dips or something sweet. I love the variety!

Recently, we tried out a soft pretzel board and decided it is a perfect game day idea. And with the Superbowl coming up soon, I want to share it with you!

You may know of my love for food boards already, but if not, then this brunch board and holiday grazing board should convince you. I just love food boards!

So when I had a craving for soft pretzels, it was only natural to figure out how to put them on a board.

It ended up being a super fun way to eat and everybody could choose their toppings!

What Ingredients Do You Need?

For the soft pretzel board, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • Soft pretzels…a mix of regular large ones and pretzel bites is great
  • Mustard (I used regular yellow)
  • Melted butter
  • Cinnamon sugar
  • Cheese dip (I used a pre-made one)
  • Chocolate sauce (I used hot fudge, melted)
  • Extra course salt
  • Any other toppings you desire!

I went super easy with this, and used pre-made ingredients. You can certainly make your own pretzels or cheese dip if you prefer!

But I wanted to make it easy on myself, so I picked up several boxes of soft pretzels and pretzel bites from the frozen section of the grocery store. You can use whatever pretzels you’d like, if you have other options!

For the toppings, there’s really no hard and fast rules here. Just like with any food board, you can customize to your heart’s content! These are what I used for my pretzel board, but definitely feel free to change it up.

I like regular yellow mustard, but you can use spicy or brown or whatever you prefer. The melted butter is just regular melted butter, and I used it for dipping the pretzels into and then topping with the cinnamon sugar or extra salt so it sticks.

The cheese dip and chocolate sauce I used were both pre-made, again for ease. I used a jarred cheese dip from the chip aisle, and heated it up. Then picked up some delicious hot fudge, melted it, and used that for the chocolate sauce.

Another great idea is to use caramel sauce!

What Equipment Do You Need for the Soft Pretzel Board?

Not too much equipment is required here! You’ll need:

That’s it! You can make it as small or large as you want- just make sure you get enough pretzels to fill up your board.

The board I used is sold out, but I love the size! There is a very similar one, found here, and I also have this one and love it. So many great board options out there, so you can find the right size for your needs.

This soft pretzel board was super fun to create and to eat during one of our cozy football Sundays! It’s another great food board to add to the list of awesome ones to try.

It was also really easy to put together, using pre-made pretzels and toppings. The only note I have, is that you will probably need to re-heat some of the toppings (butter and cheese dip especially) every so often, depending on how long you have the board out. Just pop them back into the microwave periodically to melt again and it’ll be good to go!

Do you love soft pretzels too? Which toppings would be your favorite?
