5-ingredient strawberry cheesecake trifle jars are a thing of beauty! Super easy to put together and only five ingredients make these trifles a perfect recipe for summer get-togethers.

Trifles in jars are like, my thing. They can be your thing too, if you’d like. And these strawberry cheesecake trifle jars are the bees knees of trifle jars.

Only 5 ingredients and around 20 minutes and you can have these babies ready to go. The no-bake cheesecake filling can literally be used a thousand ways too, so be prepared to be obsessed.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, since I know you totally were, these strawberry cheesecake jars are this month’s Cozy Mystery Cooking Club inspired recipe! We’ve been reading By Cook or By Crook, by Maya Corrigan. It’s the first in the five ingredient mystery series, hence, 5 ingredient trifle jars!

Strawberry Cheesecake Trifles (in jars!)

What ingredients do you need?

Only 5! Check this list out:

  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 graham cracker/cookie crust, 6 oz. / 8 inch (regular, chocolate, or Oreo works well)
  • 18 medium/large strawberries, chopped small

Um like, hello! Is that it? That’s it! Using a pre-made graham cracker crust is genius, because then you don’t have to make one, or use more than these 5 ingredients. I am, frequently, a lazy baker- I’ll admit it- so shortcuts are my friend.

What equipment do you need to make strawberry cheesecake trifle jars?

Okay, but surely you need more equipment for these…right?

Nope! I promised you an easy recipe, and tons of equipment just ain’t that. Here’s what you need:

And done. That’s it! These types of recipes are my favorites…few ingredients, little equipment, and not very much time needed. A definite plus in the summer when you want to get the heck out of the kitchen!

Can I make these ahead? And other such questions.

Can these be made ahead of time?

You could make these ahead of when you want to serve them by about one day, I would say is best. They are definitely still good after that amount of time, but the freshest you can assemble them the better. You could also prep the ingredients the day ahead, and then assemble before serving…make the cheesecake filling, cut the strawberries, and crush the crust and store separately in the fridge until ready to assemble.

What kind of crust can I use for these strawberry cheesecake trifle jars? Can I make my own?

You sure can make your own, if you’d like to! That will only take an extra ingredient or two and little extra time. As for pre-made crusts, you can use pretty much whatever. I have not seen a cookie crust that I would eschew yet, so I say go for it! I used Oreo, but I know the other standards would be good as well- regular or chocolate.

What type of containers do I need for these individual trifles?

I used 8 oz. Ball jars with lids for my trifles. You can use similar, or do 6 oz. (which I think might actually be a better fit!) or use similar sized other containers that you have on hand. If you are assembling right before eating, you could also use those cute dessert glass/cup things that all of our grandmothers had. You know the ones I mean.

5-Ingredient Strawberry Cheesecake Trifle Jars

5 ingredients for these strawberry cheesecake trifle jars! Smooth and delicious no bake cheesecake filling, layered with strawberries and cookie crust.

  • 8 oz. cream cheese softened to room temp
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 graham cracker crust 6 oz. / 8 inch (regular, chocolate, or Oreo works well)
  • 18 medium/large strawberries chopped small


  • Beat the cream cheese and sugar together in a medium bowl until smooth. In a separate bowl, beat the heavy cream until it forms whipped cream, with stiff peaks.
  • Fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture, gently, until they are combined.
  • Break the graham cracker crust into small pieces.
  • Start assembling the trifles in 8 oz. jars or containers: Place about 2 tbsp of the strawberries on the bottom of your jar. Add about 2 tbsp of cream cheese mixture on top, and then 1 tbsp of crust pieces on top of that. Repeat the layers again.
  • Do this for all your jars/containers. You can top with a little extra whipped cream, strawberries, or graham cracker crumbles if you have some left!
